چکیده

In this paper we consider the minimization of a continuous function that is potentially not differentiable or not twice differentiable on the boundary of the feasible region. By exploiting an interior point technique, we present firstand second-order optimality conditions for this problem that reduces to classical ones when the derivative on the boundary is available. For this type of problems, existing necessary conditions often rely on the notion of subdifferential or become non-trivially weaker than the KKT condition in the (twice-)differentiable counterpart problems. In contrast, this paper presents a new set of firstand second-order necessary conditions that are derived without the use of subdifferential and reduces to exactly the KKT condition when (twice-)differentiability holds. As a result, these conditions are stronger than some existing ones considered for the discussed minimization problem when only non-negativity constraints are present. To solve for these optimality conditions in the special but important case of linearly constrained problems, we present two novel interior trust-region point algorithms and show that their worstcase computational efficiency in achieving the potentially stronger optimality conditions match the best known complexity bounds. Since this work considers a more general problem than the literature, our results also indicate that best known complexity bounds hold for a wider class of nonlinear programming problems.

The KKT optimality conditions for constrained programming problem with generalized convex fuzzy mappings

The aim of present paper is to study a constrained programming with generalized $alpha-$univex fuzzy mappings. In this paper we introduce the concepts of $alpha-$univex, $alpha-$preunivex, pseudo $alpha-$univex and $alpha-$unicave fuzzy mappings, and we discover that $alpha-$univex fuzzy mappings are more general than univex fuzzy mappings. Then, we discuss the relationships of generalized $alp...

Necessary and sufficient condition on global optimality without convexity and second order differentiability

The main goal of this paper is to give a necessary and sufficient condition of global optimality for unconstrained optimization problems, when the objective function is not necessarily convex. We use Gâteaux differentiability of the objective function and its bidual (the latter is known from convex analysis).

Sequential Optimality Conditions and Variational Inequalities

In recent years, sequential optimality conditions are frequently used for convergence of iterative methods to solve nonlinear constrained optimization problems. The sequential optimality conditions do not require any of the constraint qualications. In this paper, We present the necessary sequential complementary approximate Karush Kuhn Tucker (CAKKT) condition for a point to be a solution of a ...

On the hybrid conjugate gradient method for solving fuzzy optimization problem

In this paper we consider a constrained optimization problem where the objectives are fuzzy functions (fuzzy-valued functions). Fuzzy constrained Optimization (FO) problem plays an important role in many fields, including mathematics, engineering, statistics and so on. In the other side, in the real situations, it is important to know how may obtain its numerical solution of a given interesting...

Direct optimization methods for solving a complex state-constrained optimal control problem in microeconomics

We analyze and solve a complex optimal control problem in microeconomics which has been investigated earlier in the literature. The complexity of the control problem originates from four control variables appearing linearly in the dynamics and several state inequality constraints. Thus the control problem offers a considerable challenge to the numerical analyst. We implement a hybrid optimizati...
